Construction is now officially underway on the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Originally entitled in 2010, the town center sits on 24 acres in the master-planned community of Pacific Highlands Ranch located north of State Route 56, east of Carmel Valley Road and north of Del Mar Heights Road.

The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch will provide the communities of Pacific Highlands Ranch, Carmel Valley, Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Del Mar, Santaluz, and other surrounding areas a mixed-use urban town center in close proximity to local schools, homes, job centers and transit. The Village will feature an assortment of destination retailers, including Trader Joe’s and a pharmacy, along with a variety of restaurants, both sit down and quick serve, soft goods retailers, and other services, including a possible health club and a proposed day spa. Several of the restaurants are planned to spill out onto a large, almost football field sized, pedestrian friendly Village Square. The Village Square is located at the heart of the community and will be a gathering spot which will feature a long weeping water wall, an interactive water feature, three fireplaces, and several outdoor living rooms.

The project will also include 331 multi-family units surrounding a Village Green which will be located just beyond the Village Square. The residential units and the proposed City library will create activity at the Village Green. In total, there will be five acres of areas available for public use. The Village’s shopping area and mission style architecture was inspired by the State Street shopping district in Santa Barbara.
